19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His retrieving approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent saved 4 early break points in a tight final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
